This photo shows a plain std FTE Reflector. The terminal block is to used to wire up the element to the high temperature melting point wire. If you was to use 'ordinary' wire the outside coat would melt.
This photo shows where the element locates. It is designed shape is to 'spread' the heat over a wide area. This is why these units are ideal for heating an area rather than a 'spot' heat
This photo shows the element fixed into the reflector.These units are usually fixed under the vivarium lid.
This can be done by fixing a "heat plate" to the vivarium lid and fixing the reflector unit to the "heat plate". The "heat plate" has to be lowered about 1/2" to allow for the fixing screws on the reflector unit. A guard is then fitted over the entire unit.
